Thursday 25th December - Christmas Day – ski ** Les Gets - cloudy
We had the most lovely morning – all our Christmas lights on, Christmas
music on the cd, a coffee and Elaine had snuck out to the van last night
and hung a home made hessian stocking up for us with home made fudge in
lots of different flavours, rum and raisin, baileys, vanilla, toblerone and
some chocolate honeycomb and ginger chocolate:) We had a piece of each
each and laid in bed for ages. After we had eaten breakfast and cleared up
we went up into the chalet just as the others were leaving – Elaine and
Hannah to go to the shop, Mick and Pauline to go skiing and Martin and Will
had gone skiing earlier. Marilyn is still poorly and in bed and so was Rob
(the other rob, martins son). We had a cuppa and a chat with rob. Hannah
and Elaine came back and Rob and Hannah took Emma up to ski and we chatted
to Elaine about being a medical student and practicing on dead bodies! For
most of the morning they were whipping the cream to go with the pudding and
some choc mousse. It took ages and lots of elbow grease! When Rob came
back we had a roll for lunch then Rob drove us up to the slope and Hannah
and I skied. Hannah had picked up Elaine’s identical hire skis and they
weren’t the right size for her boots so rob and I tried to do it
themselves and made it worse so they walked to the shop and they put it
right. I had an hour or so skiing on the one slope (Mag decided to save
myself for when it is better – apparently more snow over the weekend). I
skied with Emma and Mick for a bit but didn’t see Hannah. Mag and Rob
went for a good walk and Rob rung a very tipsy Shirley!! We met up and
came back to the chalet for dips and a cuppa while Elaine and Emma made the
Christmas dinner :) I couldn’t resist doing the sprouts. We had
thornton’s chocolate place names on the table and dinner was lovely and
we had xmas pud and chocolate mousse after secret santa and lots of rounds
of pub quiz’s from a book I got. I also got an optical illusion book.
Mag got a note book – perfect for next year’s journal as her present
one is nearly full to bursting, a photograph album which I think and a 2015
diary. We had champagne and after 8s and carried on with the pub quizzes
until just after 11 then back to the van.
